Nichia Files a Patent Infringement Lawsuit against Lowe's and LG Sourcing in the US

On July 19, 2016, Nichia Corporation ("Nichia") filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Lowe's Companies, Inc., a US-based LED lighting retailer, and its subsidiary LG Sourcing, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. In this lawsuit, Nichia al-leges that the defendants have infringed Nichia’s U.S. Patent No. 7,915,631. Nichia seeks an in-junction directed to the sale and distribution of infringing LED lighting products, such as “Utilitech Pro 48-inch Strip Light (#0595683)”. Nichia also seeks damages for defendants' past infringement.

Nichia seeks to protect its patents and other intellectual property rights and takes actions against alleged infringers in any country where appropriate and necessary.
