Retailers explore the impact of light and make use of Nichia's LEDs pursuing "quality of light" and "function of light" in the stores
Tokushima, Japan – 5 July 2022: Nichia, the world's largest LED manufacturer and inventor of high-brightness blue and white LEDs, is pleased to announce that following last year's adoption by EDEKA, a major supermarket in Germany, Nichia's innovative products including Tunable White Series, Optisolis™ and Vitasolis™ have all been adopted for in-store lighting at several KODi discount stores in Germany. These chosen products are specially developed by pursuing the “quality of light” and “function of light”.
KODi strategically recognizes the impact of light on people and sets a goal to create high-quality lighting that would enhance the customer shopping experience and improve the work environment for staff, in addition to being easy on the eyes, durable, and requiring minimal maintenance. As a light source that satisfies these requirements, the stores have adopted Nichia's Tunable White Series, Optisolis™ and Vitasolis™ LEDs, which were developed in pursuit of "quality of light" and "function of light”. In the stores, LED lighting is used in different ways to make the most of the characteristics and effects of each product and area. Please refer to the following link for the features of each product actually used in the stores. Currently, several KODi stores in Germany are equipped with these Nichia's LEDs
Nichia continuously explores how light brings value and enhances people's life, and will endlessly pursue the ideal light source.

Optisolis™ illuminate the products lively and naturally. The aisles and the back of the store are illuminated with Vitasolis™ to create good contrast between the space and the merchandise and to compensate for the insufficient blue element of the artificial light (compared to daylight).
In housewares, Kodi uses dynamic lighting with the help of 2-in-1 technology to create a warmer atmosphere here.
The background and concept behind the introduction at KODi was published in the German retail trade magazine ixtenso. Lighting design and luminaire realisation were the responsibility of iO Interdisziplinäre Objekte from Frankfurt.
